SPICER, Minn. (AP) — A 5-year-old boy who was critically injured after crashing an all-terrain vehicle in west-central Minnesota has died of his injuries.

Hennepin County Medical Center spokeswoman Christine Hill says Wesley Needham died Monday.

Kandiyohi County sheriff's officials say the boy took off on the ATV by himself Saturday and wasn't wearing a helmet. The four-wheeler left the road and overturned.

The accident occurred one week after a young Fillmore County boy was killed in an ATV accident near Chatfield. Fillmore County Sheriff Tom Kaase says 10-year-old Hunter Bergo was fatally injured in an accident near the town of Pilot Mound.
