Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Work is scheduled to begin this week on a road project in south Rochester, near the former Golden Hill school.

The city will install a traffic signal at the intersection of South Broadway and 3rd Ave SE. The intersection is currently a “T” and does not allow motorists on 3rd avenue to turn left onto Broadway.

The project - which also calls for the removal of the pedestrian bridge over Broadway - will require the closure of 3rd avenue near the intersection for about three weeks. This means northbound traffic on Broadway will not be allowed to turn onto 3rd avenue.

The project also includes a mill and overlay of Broadway between this intersection and 12th Street near the Crossroads Shopping Center. This will also affect traffic although one lane of travel will always be maintained in each direction.
