Red Wing, MN (KROC AM News) - It appears a Wisconsin construction company has submitted the lowest bid for the latest bridge replacement project in southeast Minnesota.

The Minnesota Dept of Transportation says it is reviewing the bid from  Zenith Tech, Inc. of Waukesha, Wis. Its bid of $63.4 million to replace the Highway 63 (Eisenhower) Bridge over the Mississippi River and the Highway 63 Bridge over Highway 61 in Red Wing beat out three other companies.

If approved, work will begin in May and continue 2-3 years.

MnDOT is the lead agency for the project in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the city of Red Wing.

Last year, the new I-90 Dresbach Bridge that crosses the Mississippi River near La Crescent opened. MnDOT says work will continue this year on the old Highway 43 bridge in Winona. A new bridge at the same site opened last year.
