Water Quality Meeting in Rochester Monday
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The first of 10 scheduled town hall meetings on Minnesota’s water quality issues and concerns will be held in Rochester Monday.
It it scheduled to be held at RCTC’s Heinz Center, near the Olmsted Medical Center Hospital from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
State Health Commissioner Doctor Ed Ehlinger says Minnesota's drinking water is safe, although some is not as healthy as it should be. He says some communities are facing challenges due to rising nitrate levels in their wells.
The town hall meetings will be attended by key members of Gov. Dayton’s Cabinet who want to hear about ways to improve the state’s water quality at the local level.
