Undated (KROC AM News) -  Minnesota Congressman Tim Walz is reporting a pretty successful fundraising effort in his bid for governor.

The First District Congressman announced his campaign for the Democratic endorsement last year, skipping another chance to represent southern Minnesota in the US House.

His staff says he and running mate Peggy Flanagan have raised more than $1,000,000 since Walz made his official announcement. The campaign also has $500,000 in cash on hand. The staff now includes 12 full and part-time workers.

“We’ve said from the start that we want to put together the resources to run a winning campaign,” Flanagan said. “We’re serious about winning, so we are building the biggest grassroots governor campaign in Minnesota's history.”
