Violent Three Hour Rampage in Twin Cities

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Prosecutors say a three-hour rampage across the Twin Cities in October ended with two killings, an armed robbery and a family terrorized in their own home.

Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman says the four suspects have been jailed since mid-October in the killing of 24-year-old Sara Wierstad. New charges filed late last week include murder, aggravated robbery and burglary.

Freeman says it's "one of the most violent rampages" he has seen in his nearly 18 years as county attorney.

Wierstad was shot to death Oct. 18 when she interrupted a burglary at her St. Paul home. The new charges say the rampage also included the killing of Julio Mozo-Cuate in an alley in south Minneapolis and a home invasion in Minneapolis in which six family members were held at gunpoint.
