Minneapolis, MN (Learfield News Service) - Maple Grove native Jake Wieneke scored the go-ahead, two-point conversion as the Minnesota Vikings topped the Seattle Seahawks 21-20 Friday night at US Bank Stadium.

Quarterback Kyle Sloter connected with Wieneke after throwing a touchdown pass to Chad Beebe with less than a minute remaining in the game. Wieneke also caught a TD in the fourth quarter. Starter Kirk Cousins threw for 182 yards in the first half and Latavius Murray had a rushing touchdown for Minnesota. Running back Dalvin Cook only carried the ball twice in his return from an ACL injury. Rookie kicker Daniel Carlson missed a pair of 42-yard field goal attempts before the Vikings rallied for the win. Seahawks QB Russel Wilson went 11 for 21 for 118 yards and Sebastian Janikowski kicked 35- and 55-yard field goals.

 

 

Rochester native Marcus Sherels appeared to suffer a hamstring injury in the second half and left the game.

Minnesota wraps up preseason play Thursday night at the Tennessee Titans.
