A chemistry professor at University of Minnesota-Rochester was one of  six men arrested this week as part of a lengthy local investigation involving the possession and distribution of child pornography.

Police say 47 year old Christopher DeZutter was taken into custody Thursday at his home while a search warrant was being executed. A spokesman says his personal computer and UMR laptop were confiscated and evidence of child pornography was found on both.

A University of Minnesota spokesman says DeZutter has been banned from the UMR campus as the school conducts its own investigation. He says DeZutter began working at UMR in August 2011.

The most serious case in the investigation involves 58-year-old Mark McGinley. He is accused of producing a pornographic video with an 8 year old child ten years ago. McGinley is also facing other counts and his bail has been set at $500,000.

Other charged in the case are:

20-year-old Lukky Chang

20-year-old Dennis Ouk

52-year-old Mark Pine

29-year-old Evan Erickson.

A seventh person was arrested Friday morning.  A spokesman says 36 year old Damian Oelkers is facing possession and distribution charges.

He is expected to be arraigned Monday.

The investigation began nearly a year ago and involved multiple agencies.
