Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - A Rochester police officer is being credited with some good investigative work in nabbing two suspected burglars over the weekend.

The officer had initial contact with the two suspects at the Meadow Park Apartments Sunday evening after they were seen placing backpacks into the trunk of a car. They told the officer they thought the car was abandoned. The officer noticed the backpacks contained video games and other items.

A few hours later the officer was checking a burglary report at the Parkside Mobile Home Park when a neighbor approached and reported his residence had also been broken into. That’s when the officer realized some of the missing items were the ones he saw earlier in the backpacks.

The two suspected burglars were tracked down and arrested. One is 16-years-old. The other is 20-year-old Andrew Zvala.
