Albert Lea, MN (Learfield News Service) - Authorities in the Albert Lea area are investigating two reported abduction attempts over the weekend.

Police say an armed man approached an alleged victim Sunday near basketball courts and told him he needed to come with him while pointing a gun. The victim was able to run towards the city pool and escape. The suspect is a white man in his late 20s to early 30s with black hair and glasses and was driving a silver minivan.

An attempted child abduction was also reported Saturday night at the Freeborn County Fair.

Sheriff's deputies say a 12-year-old girl was walking in a parking lot when someone grabbed her waist from behind and said "keep walking and nobody will get hurt." The victim said a woman yelled at the suspect to leave the girl alone and he ran away.

The man is described as having a deep voice and wearing dark shoes with white laces. Anyone information about the incidents should contact Freeborn County authorities.
