Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester police officers were busy again early Wednesday, this time dealing with two reported home invasions.

The first was reported at 4:45 AM at a residence on the 1500 block of 6th Ave SE.

A 23-year-old man who lives there says three intruders with guns kicked in the door and one held a gun to his head as they rummaged through the residence. They left with his TV and some other items.

About 20 minutes later, a 911 call came from a tenant of the Eastridge Apartments on the 2000 block of 17th St SE.

The 21-year-old victim says four men forced their way into his apartment. The victim says he was pistol-whipped several times. A 72-year-old man in the apartment was also roughed up. The victim says the intruders took several boxes of tennis shoes, an iPhone, a laptop and several hundred dollars in cash.

A patrol officer spotted a suspicious vehicle nearby and stopped the driver. The officer immediately became suspicious when he saw a TV and some other suspected stolen items in the vehicle.

The driver and passenger were arrested as suspects in the home invasions. They have been identified as 21-year-old Teekajwok Oman and 21-year-old Ali Gombo, both from Rochester.

Police Capt. John Sherwin says other suspects are being sought. He says these two incidents do not appear to be related to the crime spree that happened last weekend.
