Owatonna, MN (KROC AM News)  - Charges have been filed against two men who were arrested this week as suspects in the recent murder of a Medford man.

Arraigned Thursday in Steele County Court were 24-year-old Cyrus Trevino of Owatonna and 36-year-old Gerald Blevins of Bemidji.

Trevino has been charged with 2nd degree murder and his bail was set at $1.5-million. Blevins is facing a charge of aiding and abetting 2nd degree murder. His bail was set at $750,000.

According to the criminal complaint, the execution-style killing of 22-year-old Richard Jurgensen was linked to an earlier drug bust involving Trevino’s brother Jeremy and a woman. The two were arrested in March after being caught with 2.2 pounds of methamphetamine. The woman later referred to Jurgensen as being a “snitch.”

Police were able to identify Trevino and Blevins as suspects in the June 25th killing of Jurgensen. Blevins later told investigators the two drove Jurgenson to a rural site near Owatonna where the victim’s hands were bound. Blevins says Trevino then shot Jurgenson in the chest and head.  His body was found a few hours later along the road where he was shot.

Witnesses have told investigators that Trevino had also suspected Jurgenson of being an informant. Police say there were no records of him being an informant.
