Twins Drop Next-to-Last Exhibition Game to Nationals 4-3

Washington, DC (Learfield)  --  The Minnesota Twins scored three times in the third inning to tie, but eventually lost Friday's exhibition game to Washington 4-3.  

The Nationals had a three-run lead when Eddie Rosario singled in Trevor Plouffe in the fourth inning.  Byung Ho Park followed with a base hit, then shortstop Eduardo Escobar doubled them both home to tie it at 3-3.  The Nationals scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth.  

The Twins send right hander Ricky Nolasco to the mound today against the Nationals, our coverage begins this morning at 11 o'clock on KROC AM.

Twins Confident About Making The Playoffs In 2016

Washington, DC (Learfield) -- With one of the youngest rosters in the big leagues, the Minnesota Twins are confident about making the playoffs.

That has not happened since 2010, and the Twins did not have a winning record in that stretch until last season when they won 83 games. All-Star second baseman Brian Dozier says there are higher expectations for 2016 -- and it's the first time in his career that he expects to win instead of just wanting-or-hoping for success.

The Twins picked up Korean slugger Byung Ho Park in the off-season, hoping it will add to a solid power-hitting crew that includes Dozier, Miguel Sano, and Trevor Plouffe.
