The summer season in downtown Rochester gets into full swing this week with this year’s inaugural Thursdays on First and Third Summer Market and Music Festival.

The forecast is calling for ideal weather for the season's first weekly gathering in the “Heart of the City” that features over 100 vendors offering food, along with arts and craft items each Thursday until August 25th. The popular community event brings thousands of people together in downtown Rochester to enjoy music, food and friendship from 11 a.m. through 8:30 p.m.

The lunchtime entertainment is offered from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., while the evening music festival performances are scheduled to begin at 5 and 7 p.m. on stages in the Peace Plaza and in the 300 block of 1st Avenue Southwest.

For more information, and a schedule of the performers is available on the website for the Rochester Downtown Alliance, the organizers and sponsors of Thursdays on First and Third.
