MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Another Minnesota man has admitted he was part of a plot to travel to Syria to join the Islamic State group.

Twenty-year-old Zacharia Yusuf Abdurahman pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist group — specifically the Islamic State group.

Authorities say he was part of a group of friends in Minnesota's Somali community who met secretly to plan different ways to travel to Syria. Abdurahman said he and some of the group's members took buses to New York last November and tried to travel overseas. He then participated in a plan to get fake passports.

Abdurahman is the third Minnesota man to plead guilty in connection with the plots. Five others face a February trial.
