St. Paul, MN (KROC AM News) -  The US Agriculture Department has confirmed another bird flu outbreak at a Minnesota turkey farm.

The latest is in Kandiyohi County in western Minnesota. It was the sixth outbreak confirmed in that county and the 28th in the state since the H5N2 virus was detected at a farm near Alexandria last month.

Officials say approximately 1.7 million turkeys have either died from the infection or have been euthanized in an effort to prevent the spread of the virus.
