St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - Despite the soggy weather on Labor Day, over 171,000 went through the turnstiles to attend the final day of the 2018 Minnesota State Fair. That was more than enough to push the attendance total for the Great Minnesota Get Together above the 2-million mark for the first time.

The 12-day attendance total of 2,046,533 beat the previous record set just last year by over 49,000 people. The tally got a big boost on Saturday when over 270,000 people visited the State Fairgrounds and set a new high mark for attendance on any single day during the fair.

Four other daily attendance records were also set this year.

  • 122,695 on August 23rd
  • 122,194 on August 25th
  • 144,940 on August 29th
  • 156,764 on August 30th
