The Spring Grove Lions have had an incredible season. After losing the past five Section Championship games, the Lions are back to the State Tournament for the first time since 2011.

It was no easy task to get there either, as they may have had the most difficult road to the State Tournament than any other team in the state, regardless of class size.

The Lions defeated the four-time defending State Champions, Grand Meadow, in the section semi-finals before beating 2016's state runner-ups in Cleveland on a touchdown plus two-point conversion with eight seconds left on clock.

The run the Lions have been on has been incredible, and the road very tough. The tough road has given the Lions incredible confidence heading into the State Quarterfinal match up against a very good Verndale squad.

Spring Grove Head Coach Zach Hauser knows the road doesn't get any easier.

The Lions are set to take on Verndale on Friday night in Buffalo, with a 7 p.m. kickoff, and we have the action for you on Cool 104, kvgo1043.com and the FREE Radio Pup App!
