Los Angeles, CA (Learfield)  --  Saying the Los Angeles Sparks had a strong start in Friday's 92-75 W-N-B-A playoff game win doesn't go far enough.

The Sparks roared to a 30-8 first quarter lead on the way to taking a two-games-to-one edge in the league championship series.  The defending champion Lynx did wipe out most of the Sparks' lead, but never came all the way back.

Rebecca Brunson and Sylvia Fowles scored 14 points apiece to lead Minnesota.  Candace Parker led all scorers for Los Angeles with 24.  The Lynx have to win the next two games to hold on to the W-N-B-A title.

Game-four is tomorrow night in Los Angeles
