MADISON, Wis. (AP) — University of Wisconsin-Madison police report more than 100 fans were ejected from Saturday's Big Ten football game against Northwestern at Camp Randall Stadium.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports fans threw snowballs and ice at each other and onto the field as the season's first big snow hit Madison.

According to UW-Madison police, 110 fans were ejected, including 50 for throwing snow or ice.

Twenty-four fans were issued tickets, for a variety of offenses. Twenty-five calls for first aid were received, including for a number of people who suffered bloody noses or other injuries after being hit by snowballs.

The Badgers lost to the Wildcats 13-7.
