Red Wing, MN (KROC-AM News) - The second suspect in a violent home invasion near Cannon Falls has been apprehended. Court records indicate 29-year-old Terrell Schaeffer was taken into custody in the Twin Cities last week and was arraigned in Goodhue County Court on kidnapping, aggravated robbery, simple robbery and burglary charges last Friday. Conditional bail for the St. Paul man was set at $50,000.

Schaeffer and another Twin Cities man, 33-year-old Aldray Young, are accused of breaking into a rural Cannon Falls residence and robbing the couple living in the home at gunpoint. The victims were then left bound in a basement bedroom while the robbers fled the scene in a car.

Young was arrested and charged in the case last November after Goodhue County authorities got a lucky break in the case. A Cannon Falls woman reported a suspicious vehicle and an investigator noted it matched the description of the vehicle being sought in connection with the home invasion. Eventually, investigators were granted a search warrant for data from a DWI ignition interlock device installed in the vehicle that included a video of the two men inside the car with the victims’ house in the background, along with a timestamp indicated it was recorded around the time the crime occurred last May.
