Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Rochester Public Utilities Board is scheduled to vote Tuesday on a recommendation dealing with its financial support of the Lake Zumbro improvement project.

The board voted in 2012 to include $1.167 million in its budget for the project, which has been in the planning stage for several years. The board is being asked to pass a resolution that confirms the earlier commitment.

The Olmsted County Board recently approved a $400,000 contribution. The Wabasha County Board will contribute $100,000. The state has offered a matching grant of $3.5 million.

If the RPU Board approves the resolution, the Joint Powers Board that is overseeing the project can finalize the assessments that will be applied to property owners located in the Lake Improvement District.
