Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester woman has been sentenced for what is believed to be the first cyberbullying crime of its kind to be prosecuted in Olmsted County.

The Olmsted County Attorney’s office charged 36-year-old Tonya Hewitt earlier this year.

According to the criminal complaint, a man contacted authorities after becoming aware Hewitt had used the internet to share a nude photograph of him with others. He later learned an ad had been placed on Craigslist that included his name and phone number. It identified him as a “lonely trucker” who was “looking for men that are wanting to have a great time.”

Hewitt pleaded guilty to a gross misdemeanor of nonconsensual dissemination of private sexual images. She has been sentenced to two years probation.
