Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester police are investigating a reported attempted robbery of a teenager.

The 17-year-old says he was walking between Cub Foods and Slatterly Park around 2:30 PM Thursday when a man approached and demanded money. The man said he needed money to buy some liquor. The teen says the man showed a knife but did not threaten him with it. The teenager says the man patted him down and after finding no money, he walked away.

The teen then ran home and told his father and the two went to the Law Enforcement Center to report the incident.

The teen described the man as black, between 30 and 40-years-old, 5-10, medium build with short gray hair.
