Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester teenager wanted as a suspect in a recent robbery is behind bars.

Rochester police learned 19-year-old Ali Robida was at a residence in St Paul and he was apprehended Tuesday.

He and 18-year-old Jacob Meier have been charged with robbing the northside GameStop store Feb 19. According to the criminal complaint, Meier has admitted he was the one who hit a 23-year-old employee over the head with a hammer during the robbery. The victim suffered a fractured skull. The complaint says Meier told police Robida “owed a debt to a drug dealer and the robbery was an effort to obtain funds to pay that debt.”  Police later learned Robida had sold 16 video games to a pawn store in Duluth two days after the robbery.

Robida contacted the police department’s K9 Facebook site Saturday and left a message indicating he wasn’t involved in the robbery. Police say his message said he was “eating tacos with his family” during the time of the robbery.

He was arraigned Wednesday and his bail was set at $150,000.
