Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Basketball courts at three Rochester parks are in the running for some big improvements as part of a new initiative by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The NBA team is teaming up with US Bank to provide “significant upgrades” to the basketball courts at three parks in Rochester, Moorhead and the Twin Cities.

The team is asking residents in Rochester to vote for one of three parks in the city - Kutzky, East and Friendship. The one that receives the most votes will receive the upgrade.

Voting will close Aug. 6th.

The program - called  ‘New Era. New Courts.’ - will become an annual initiative.

“Growing the game of basketball is central to who we are as an organization,” said Timberwolves & Lynx CEO Ethan Casson. “We know that these courts are where communities come together to learn the values of our game; competitiveness, sportsmanship, hard work and fun. Through this new platform, we will ensure communities have these courts for years to come.”
