Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  Rochester police continue investigating a reported burglary of an occupied home.

Police Captain John Sherwin says a 37 year old woman was sleeping Friday morning when she awoke around 10 a.m. to see a man in her bedroom, looking through her closet.

The woman - who lives in an apartment in the 1200 block of 4 ½ St NW - says when she tried calling 911 on her cellphone, the man grabbed her by the hair and threw her onto the floor. The woman says the man demanded money and then smashed her TV with a tire iron.

The woman says the man told her he was going to call 911 - and he did. He then sat next to the woman and began rubbing her arm and face - and asked for sex.

Officers arrived to find the 27 year old man outside the residence and he was taken into custody.

Sherwin says the man apparently gained entry to the home by using the tire iron to pry open a door.
