Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -The latest motorcycle accident in the news happened in Rochester Wednesday night, near St Francis Church.

Police Capt. John Sherwin says 25-year-old Kayla Brotzler of Elgin had the green light as she was driving through the 11th Ave/4th St SE intersection around 6 p.m. when a car suddenly appeared in front of her. Sherwin says she put the motorcycle down and slid under the car. The driver was unable to stop in time and Brotzler was run over.

Sherwin says she suffered a broken arm, fractured ribs and other injuries. She was reported in fair condition at St Marys Hospital Thursday morning.

Sherwin says the car was driven by 30-year-old Mary Williams of Rochester, who was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way.
