Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man who was the target of an attempted burglary early Tuesday was waiting with a loaded shotgun to confront anyone who entered his residence.

The 66-year-old man and his wife were sleeping when they were awakened by some loud noises in the garage around 12:30 a.m. He went to check and noticed the outdoor service door in the garage had been forced open.

He called 911 and then grabbed his gun and waited until officers arrived.

The man lives in the 200 block of Elton Hills Drive NW.
