Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic wreck that happened Saturday night about two miles east of Rochester Community and Technical College.

The wreck happened at 9:30 p.m. near the Highway 14/50th Ave. SE intersection when a westbound car collided head-on with an eastbound SUV.

The State Patrol’s preliminary report indicates the car was driven by a 20-year-old Rochester man who died at St. Mary’s Hospital. He and a 58-year-old male passenger had to be cut from the car. The passenger suffered serious injuries.

The SUV was driven by a 52-year-old St. Charles man who was treated at the scene for minor injuries. No names have been released yet.
