Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - One of the 2 people arrested following a serious injury assault in downtown Rochester last August has been sentenced to 2 months in jail. 24-year-old Najib Ahmed was also given a stayed prison sentence of 21 months which could be imposed on him if he gets in trouble during his 5 years on probation.

Ahmed earlier pleaded guilty to a third-degree assault charge stemming from his involvement in an attack on a 27-year-old man who was left unconscious after he was beaten and stomped on in front of Dooley’s restaurant in the early hours of August 13th, 2017. The police report says the victim’s wallet was also stolen by his attackers.
