Dodge Center, MN (KROC-AM News)Two people were transported to St. Mary’s Hospital Monday evening after they were injured in a crash that ended a high speed chase involving a stolen car driven by a 54-year-old Rochester man.

A spokesman for the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department says the pursuit, during which the speeds hit 100 miles per hour, began in Mower County and then moved in Dodge County. The driver managed to avoid stop sticks deployed by deputies in Highway 56 before the stolen vehicle collided with a second car at the intersection with Dodge County Road 6 about halfway between Dodge Center and Hayfield.

The driver, identified by the State Patrol as Scott Skjeveland, was taken into custody by Mower County deputies.

The two occupants of the second vehicle, 70-year-old Larry and 68-year-old Linda Knutson of Blooming Prairie, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
