Rochester Gas Prices Hit 2 1/2 Year High
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - In case you haven’t noticed, Rochester motorists are suddenly paying more for gasoline than they have in more than two years.
Prices at the pump have been steadily climbing in recent weeks and hit $2.55 for a gallon of regular at many Rochester stations Thursday night.
Prices are even higher in the Twin Cities but lower in northern parts of the state.
According to GasBuddy, the last time the average price was this high was late summer 2015. A month ago the state’s average price for regular was around $2.35. They were around $2.30 at this time a year ago.
Oil and gasoline prices have been rising in part in recent months due to growing demand.
