Rochester, MN (KROC AM News ) - A Rochester man who was hit by a car last week has died of complications caused by the injuries he suffered in the accident.

Police Captain John Sherwin says 68 year old Clinton Swartz was walking across 1st Ave NW near Central Park around 10:45 Friday night when he was struck by a woman who was headed to work.

Sherwin says Swartz was walking from the American Legion club to his residence at nearby Central Towers at the time. Sherwin says he was conscious when first responders arrived.

The 26 year old woman driving the car was not given a ticket. She told police she had just turned onto 1st Ave and did not see Swartz in time to avoid hitting him. Sherwin says it was dark in the area where the accident took place.
