Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Organizers of the 2017 Minnesota Foodshare March Campaign in the Rochester area say the effort easily beat this year’s goal.

The Channel One Regional Food Bank says it collected over 467,000 pounds and or dollars during the campaign. Over 90 businesses, churches, schools and other organizations participated this year. They collected almost 266,000 pounds of food and over $201,000 in donations. That’s up 11-percent from last year and exceed the goal by about 17,000 pounds or dollars.

The Channel One Regional Food Bank says the local donations leverage additional food and monetary contributions from the Minnesota Foodshare statewide incentive fund to assist almost 13,000 people living in Olmsted County.
