St Paul (KROC AM News) - Gov. Dayton is proposing dozens of public works projects as part of a huge bonding bill he released Tuesday.

Dayton’s plan calls for borrowing $1.5-billion to pay for the projects.

Higher education projects make up a third of the proposed amount, including $15-million on renovation and other work at RCTC. The University of Minnesota would receive $300-million under the Dayton plan. Also included is a proposal to pay for a $10-million expansion of the National Eagle Center in Wabasha.

Dayton is also proposing spending $100-million on more affordable housing projects.

Dayton’s proposed wish list is expected to run into opposition when it’s presented to the Republican-controlled legislature after the 2018 session begins next month.
