The recent rainy weather has significantly improved the drought situation in Minnesota, but nearly the entire state continues remains drier than normal.

The updated Drought Monitor report from the National Weather Service shows about half of Minnesota is still rated as being in a moderate drought, and nearly 94-percent of the state has either moderate or minor drought conditions.

The most dramatic improvement involves the areas that were in a severe drought. A week ago, almost a third of the state was rated as being in a severe drought. This week’s report it’s the percentage of the state with severe drought conditions at zero.
