St.Charles, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has scheduled a public information meeting next Thursday concerning Holden Farms’ proposed expansion of two hog operations in Winona County.

The MPCA says the business wants to add facilities for another 950 pigs and its operation near Elba and expand the capacity of its farm near Utica by about 2,600 pigs, boosting the number of hogs at each of the sites to over 4,100.

The public information meeting will be held at the Saint Charles Community Center from 7 until 8:30 p.m. on January 12th. The agency is accepting written comments on the Environmental Assessment Worksheet on the proposal through February 1st.
