Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Rochester Planning and Zoning Commission has approved the preliminary plan for a proposed hotel project at the American Legion site.

Wednesday night’s vote by the commission was unanimous and its recommendation now goes to the City Council for consideration.

The project calls for a nine story building that would include 175 guestrooms, a restaurant, swimming pool and fitness center. The second and third levels would provide parking for a total of 95 vehicles.

The city’s planning staff recommended approval, as long as a number of conditions are met.
