Claremont, MN (KROC-AM News) - The post office in Claremont reopened today.

The facility in the Dodge County community had been closed for about a week because of concerns about the weight of the deep snow from the recent blizzard. A spokesperson for the U.S. Postal Service says repairs were made and a structural assessment has cleared the building for re-occupancy. Customers of that facility were directed to the post office in Kasson while the landlord in Claremont addressed the structural concerns.

Meanwhile, the Byron School District reopened its intermediate school this morning. It was closed Thursday while crews worked to remove the deep snow on the roof of the building. All three Byron schools had to be shut down for at least a day in the aftermath of the blizzard due to concerns about the heavy snow.
