Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man today admitted to three felony charges by entering into a plea agreement to settle charges stemming from two brutal attacks on a Rochester woman last year. 36-year-old Samuel Carlson pleaded guilty to domestic assault, third-degree assault, and a 5th-degree drug possession charge. In exchange, prosecutors dropped four other felony counts that included 2nd-degree assault and the 1st-degree aggravated robbery.

Carlson was arrested in July after his estranged girlfriend called 911 and reported that she had been beaten repeatedly and robbed after he accused her of cheating on him. The victim told police she was finally able to seek help after Carlson fell asleep inside her home. The 40-year-old woman’s 3 children were also in the home during the day-long ordeal.

The second incident occurred in November and again involved Carlson holding a woman against her will and repeatedly assaulted her. The victim in the second case also managed to escape and call for help after Carlson fell asleep.

Carlson is scheduled to be sentenced on March 5th.
