Kellogg, MN (KROC-AM News) - A La Crosse-area man was killed Saturday while driving a motorcycle along the Mississippi River.

It’s not known if 62-year-old Randall Beers was participating in this weekend’s annual Spring Flood Run, but he was fatally injured in a collision on Highway 61 in Wabasha County Saturday afternoon. The Minnesota State Patrol says the Onalaska man was driving south on Highway 61 when his Harley Davidson motorcycle collided with a car that was attempting to turn north onto Highway 61 from Highway 42 near Kellogg.

The deadly crash occurred around 4:50 p.m.

Beers’ passenger, a 37-year-old woman from Bangor, Wisconsin, was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The 51st annual Spring Flood Run was expected to attract tens of thousands of motorcyclists to cruise along the highways on both sides of the Mississippi River between the Twin Cities and Winona to raise money for the Gillette Children’s Hospital.
