Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - It appears the superintendent of the Rochester Public Schools system will be staying put, at least for now.

Michael Munoz spent last weekend in the Kansas City area, where he was interviewed by the school board and met with the parents of students in the Shawnee Mission School District after he was named one of the 3 finalists for the job of superintendent. In the end, the Shawnee Mission district did not extend a job offer to Munoz and has instead hired a new school administrator from the St. Louis area.

Just last week, Munoz was awarded a three-year extension of his employment contract with the Rochester School District that raises his pay by $16,000 by the final year of the agreement.
