St. Peter,MN (Learfield Wire Services) - Thirty-six hours after she went missing, searchers found a 12-year-old developmentally disabled girl in the Minnesota River - alive.

St. Peter police say Mya Ann Arriage was wet and cold, but conscious when she was found by some hunters around 2:30 p.m. Saturday. She had slipped away from her family's home around 4 a.m. Friday. A driver contacted authorities when he saw her walking on a bridge, starting the search.

The search was conducted on foot, by air and by boat, including the use of police dogs and was focused about four miles from where she was found.  

Police had feared she had drowned after the search turned up no sign of her.
