Missing Red Wing Area Woman Found in River
Red Wing, MN (KROC-AM News) -- The family and friends of a western Wisconsin woman received the news they had been dreading Wednesday evening. 23-year-old Marya Christensen is dead.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension sent out a notice cancelling a missing person alert several hours after a white minivan was pulled out of the Mississippi River in Pierce County Wisconsin near Red Wing. The vehicle matched the description of the minivan Christensen was driving when she left a Red Wing bar last weekend and Minnesota officials soon had confirmation the young woman was deceased.
The night she vanished, Christensen indicated she was headed to her home in Hager City, where she lived with her boyfriend her young sons. Her boyfriend reported her missing Sunday afternoon.
The investigation into her death continues.
