Minnesota Teen Admits to Murder Charge Stemming From Fatal Fire

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) — A Sartell teenager has pleaded guilty for his role in an accidental fire that killed a woman at a St. Cloud home last November.

Investigators believe the fire started when 19-year-old Justin Edward Pick and 18-year-old Dustin Ross Zablocki were making an extract from marijuana known as "dabs" or butane hash oil. The fire killed Zablocki's grandmother, Sally Douglas.

The St. Cloud Times reports Pick pleaded guilty Wednesday to aiding and abetting third-degree murder. State guidelines recommend a sentence of just over seven years in prison. Pick's sentencing is set for Oct. 29.

Pick has agreed to testify against Zablocki, who is due in court Nov. 12. A judge recently denied a motion to dismiss one of the two counts against him and exclude certain evidence.
