Major General Jon A. Jensen has been named the 31st adjutant general of the Minnesota National Guard, a position vacated when Maj. Gen. Richard Nash announced his retirement.

Governor Mark Dayton appointed Jensen to serve a seven-year term beginning in October.  Jensen is currently the commanding general of the 34th Infantry Division. He also served as the Minnesota National Guard's state chief of staff. He has been a National Guardsman for more than 29 years  The adjutant general oversees the Minnesota Department of Military Affairs and leads the state's National Guard.
