Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 29th on the Mayowood Road segment of Rochester’s 16th St SW reconstruction project.

This requires the closure of Mayowood Road, meaning the existing one-way westbound traffic movement will not be allowed for approximately two weeks.

This is necessary so the contractor can install storm sewer and grade the new roadway.

Left turns will no longer be allowed from 16th Street SW onto Mayowood Road, except for visitors/residents that are traveling to the Waters on Mayowood facility. A separate left-turn lane will be provided for the Waters on Mayowood driveway access. All other travelers should stay in the westbound through lane on 16th Street SW. Upon completion of this work, Mayowood Road will be reopened to one-way westbound traffic.

The 16th Street SW project - which includes traffic signals at the 16th St/Mayowood Rd intersection - is anticipated to be complete and open to all traffic at the end of October.
