Mayo Patient Remains Cancer Free After Measles Vaccine Treatment
Rochester, MN (Learfield News Service) - A Mayo Clinic patient treated with a massive dose of the measles vaccine is still cancer-free five years later.
Stacy Erholtz underwent the experimental treatment for multiple myeloma pioneered by Dr. Stephen Russell, a professor of molecular medicine. She received enough measles vaccine to inoculate ten million people.
Russell is moving forward with his study after success with Erholtz.
