(Chicago, IL)  --  Minnesota Golden Gopher point guard Nate Mason has been named the Big Ten Conference Co-Player of the Week after his career high 31-point performance in Sunday's win at 15th ranked Purdue.

Mason added 11 assists in the 91-82 overtime victory at West Lafayette.  He also scored 18 points in an overtime loss to Michigan State last week.  Minnesota is 13-and-2 overall and 1-and-1 in the Big Ten.

The Gophers are among those teams receiving votes in this week's national media poll, sitting at 27th overall.

Next up for Minnesota is a trip to Evanston, Illinois to take on Northwestern Thursday night at 8 P-M, pre-game on KROC AM begins at 7:30.
